Asylum-seekers have been making headlines, but it’s rare that we get to read their stories. Our guest today, Suzanne Barakat, reads the stories of asylum seekers every day — in the scars on their skin, and the traumas they bring to the clinic she runs.
Suzanne is the Executive Director of the UCSF Health and Human Rights Initiative. Her primary program there is the human rights clinic. There, Suzanne and her team give pro bono medical evaluations. These evaluations help immigrants gain asylum. Her work there is almost as impactful as her story.

He pioneered the world’s first clinical program focused on social isolation and today serves as an adjunct professor of medicine at Stanford and a Forbes contributor.

Tyler met Elizabeth when he was just 20 years old. After two “miserable” years working at Theranos, he spoke to the Wall Street Journal exposing his realization that the tests were fakes. Now at 31, Tyler is the CEO and Co-Founder of Flux Biosciences.
